Spokane International Airport

While there are many kind and compassionate individuals at the Spokane International Airport, the Airport as a whole does not qualify as a trans friendly establishment. TSA is notorious for requiring transgender passengers to receive a thorough pat down and have your hands swabbed for bomb residue after going through the body scanner. The pat down can be done in private (although it may take more time) and you can request a TSA agent who’s gender matches your own gender identity to preform the pat down. Other airports do not usually subject transgender to this extra screening which is what qualifies Spokane International Airport as a trans hostile establishment. Individuals flying with TSA Precheck Status may not be subjected to the additional screening, although that is not guaranteed.
